1. What do you think the interviewer , alex Chadwick , means by the phrase  friends,take heart? 

It means  if your're afraid to let someone else see your waekness, take heart nobody's perfect, besides your attempts to hide your flaws don't work  as well as you think they do.


2. Why does he use the word friends to adress  the anonymous radio audience?
Maybe  this is like a blin date,  if you;re asked to perform in public , we are not really pepared. 
example:  if your mother says, you know, "play the piano for aunt Tilly" you have the feelling of shyness.
